About the Project

The La Porte Independent School District serves a dynamic and diverse community that is often in the path of dramatic weather patterns. The students and staff of Bayshore Elementary School were relocated to five different La Porte ISD campuses following Hurricane Ike. The entire community had a high sense of urgency to bring them back together at their own school as quickly as possible. The new 105,000-square-foot elementary school was completed in 10 months, replacing the existing 750 student school in its entirety along with a freestanding gymnasium and a community walking track.
